Blood sampling
First, blood is taken from the patient - this is done through a venous access, whereby the blood is continuously drained from the body.

The contaminated plasma is separated from the whole blood by the plasma filter. The differential filter specifically removes the harmful substances while the useful components are retained.

Repatriation
After the blood has passed through the filtration process, it is returned to the body. The purified blood is returned via a second venous access.

Inuspheresis® is based on the principle of apheresis - an established medical procedure that has been the subject of international research since its introduction in 1981. By mid-2025, over 33,000 scientific studies on apheresis had been published (source: PubMedJuly 2025). Over 500,000 individual pieces of data on inuspheresis itself have also been collected, analyzed and documented in 12 medical publications in recent years.
The results of these evaluations show: Inuspheresis can demonstrably improve microcirculation - i.e. blood flow in the finest vessels (arterioles and capillaries), where a large part of cellular metabolism takes place.

Inuspheresis® is considered to be very well tolerated. In rare cases, short-term circulatory reactions or fatigue may occur - comparable to a larger blood sample. Our medical care ensures that possible reactions are recognized and treated at an early stage.
