When tiredness becomes a permanent condition.

Many people feel permanently exhausted - without a clear medical cause being found. There is often more to it than stress or lack of sleep: hidden inflammation, micronutrient deficiencies, energy metabolism disorders or environmental pollution can put long-term strain on the body.

Common causes of persistent fatigue

Micronutrient deficiency

Iron, B12, magnesium and co. - small deficits, big effect.

Mitochondrial disorder

If the cell power plants go on strike, there is a lack of energy in everyday life.

Hidden inflammations

Chronic silent inflammation puts a strain on the immune system.

Environmental and toxin pollution

Heavy metals, pesticides and the like disturb the inner balance.

What you need to know about chronic fatigue

Chronic fatigue is a persistent state of deep exhaustion that does not go away with sleep, rest or vacation. It can significantly impair physical, emotional and mental performance and is often a symptom of complex underlying illnesses - such as long Covid, chronic infections, burnout or autoimmune processes

If the fatigue lasts longer than six months, no recognizable organic cause is found in the classic cash register system and those affected feel permanently restricted, this is referred to as chronic fatigue syndrome

In addition to persistent fatigue, sufferers often report:

  • Concentration problems ("brain fog")
  • Muscle and limb pain
  • Sleep disorders
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Sensitivity to light and noise

These symptoms can vary in intensity and are often exacerbated by stress or physical exertion

Many sufferers describe a feeling as if the body is constantly "running on reserve". Even simple tasks such as going for a walk, having a conversation or taking a shower can be overwhelming. Chronic fatigue can also manifest itself psychologically through irritability, withdrawal and emotional instability.

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS / ME) is a medically defined illness in which physical and cognitive stress leads to a severe worsening of symptoms ("crash"). Chronic fatigue can be a symptom of many illnesses - in CFS, however, it is at the center and is often particularly pronounced and long-lasting.

Fatigue is not destiny.
