Chronic Fatigue – when tiredness doesn't go away

Chronic fatigue is a fatigue that doesn't improve with sleep. You sleep seven, eight, sometimes nine hours—and wake up feeling as if you've barely rested. Morning coffee helps for an hour, then the slump hits. Concentration feels sluggish. Your body is present, but somehow not truly there. After a normal workday, you're exhausted as if you've run a marathon. Those who are familiar with this often have already been through the standard medical system. Blood work: unremarkable. Thyroid: fine. Family doctor: „You probably work too much.“ Or: „It's stress.“ Sometimes even: „It's just your age.“ The problem isn't that these answers are wrong. The problem is that they often don't go deep enough.
